You may submit a complaint against any Registrar, the Registry or the Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum by completing the form below. We call this type of complaint: claim.

The lodging of a claim does not entail any obligation to pay. 


1. Claim against a Registrar

Claim may be lodged against the Registrar authorised by the Registry, who has a contractual relationship with the Domain Applicant, in connection with the domain registration, delegation and maintenance (not covered by the procedure of the Registration Decision Maker regulated by the Dispute Resolution Rules of Procedure). 

The Registrar will investigate and respond to the claim within 15 working days on the basis of the information available and the documents submitted.

2. Claim against the Registry 

The Registry, as the administrator of the .hu public domains, may lodge a claim in relation to its activities (not covered by the procedure of the Registration Decision Maker regulated by the Rules of Procedure) related to the registration, storage, maintenance and making available of the registered domain names and the data related thereto. 

The claim will be investigated and responded to within 15 working days by the Scientific Association of Council of Hungarian Internet Providers, which is responsible for regulating the .hu domain namespace, on the basis of the information available and the documents submitted.

3. Claim against the Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum 

A claim may be lodged against any procedure or decision of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum.  

The claim will be investigated and responded to within 15 working days by the Presidency of the Council of Internet Service Providers Scientific Association, which is responsible for the .hu domain name regulation, on the basis of the available information and documents submitted. 

Please note that a claim does not constitute an appeal against a decision of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum in any of its proceedings.

4. Claim in case of transfer of a domain against the will of the registrant

A registrant may discover that a domain he/she is using has been transferred against his/her will. In this case, point 7.2.5 of the Domain Registration Rules states that:

If, following a transfer, the former Domain Registrant claims that the transfer was made without his/her consent, he/she shall have 30 days to lodge a complaint with the Integrated Complaints Management System and reclaim his/her right to use the domain. In the Procedure, the Registry will request the new Registrant to submit relevant evidence of the legality of the transfer within 5 days and will register a transfer ban on the domain until the end of the procedure. The Registry will decide within 10 days on the affiliation of the domain. After the decision of the Registrar, the former or the new Registrant may request within 30 days that the procedure of the Registraiton Decision Maker be carried out in accordance with Section 10.6 of the Rules. For the duration of the ADR procedure, the transfer restriction for the domain is extended.
